Louis Yacub Kisar of Temecula, California passed away peacefully by the side of his wife at home on January 17th, 2010 at the age of 77. We will remember him as a man of a few words and with a great mind enjoying his life in private.
Louis was born on October 23rd, 1932 in Madaba, Jordan. His parents were Yacub Salem Ksar and Miriam Twal. He attended Terra Sancta College in Amman, Jordan. He worked as a Math teacher in Beit Jala, near Bethlehem, and as an employee of Barclays Bank in Benghazi, Libya.
At the age of 24 he immigrated to São Paulo, Brasil in March of 1956, where he worked with his brother, Salem. He married Esmeralda Maria Remorino on December 31st, 1960. During his stay in São Paulo, he worked as a consultant, bookkeeper and realtor.
He immigrated with his family to San Diego, California on February 14th, 1976. He and his first cousin Joseph Qsar owned and operated several restaurants. The restaurants included: George’s Family Kitchen in Imperial Beach, CA; Escondido Family Restaurant in Escondido, CA and Randy’s Family Restaurant in Oceanside, CA. After 8 years the cousins decided to part on their own. In 1984, he purchased a health food store named “The Udder Corner” in Encinitas, CA. He stayed there for about a year. As the economy went down that year, he sold his business and started working as a store manager in several “Arco Gas Stations” for the next 10 years or so until he retired.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years along with his children: Rosana and Maurice. His son William preceded him in death. He has two wonderful grandsons: Eric and Pablo. He is also survived by his brothers: Shaker, Michael and Maurice. His brother Salem and sister Feiruz have also preceded his death.
