BIOGRAPHY

 

Dr. Shibli Mansour Sawalha Born in Madaba/Jordan 1936 immigrated to Palestine 1945 and completed his secondary education in Jerusalem. 1965 he came to Chicago, Illinois as a student at DePaul University to study Medicine. He shifted careers from premed to management. He received his Master degree in health care management from Roosevelt University in 1973 and his Doctorate degree in Health care management and Hospital Administration in 1980 from Century University in California.

 

He was a hospital administrator of a health care facility with the State of Illinois for over thirty years. He was featured in who is who in 2005. He retired in 2002.

His wife Manuela B.S, MS. Education was associate professor of Medical Laboratory Science Division in Kankakee Community College in Illinois from 1977 and retired in 2007.

 

He became active in Arab American Activities after graduation and was elected President of the Arab American Congress 1968-1970 representing the total Arab American community in Chicago.  He was elected as President of the Homeowner Association 1976-1980 in Homer Township. Became a member of the Heritage Council of the US council and a member of the Board of the Ethnics in Illinois.

 

Dr. Sawalha was GOP committeeman in Will County 1978-2006, a member of the Finance Central Committee and a member of the Candidate Selection committee. He received many awards for his civic effort from Governors and Many Presidents of the US. He was the Chairman of the Arab American Republican Federation 1980-2006. He is the President of Online Recruiting Inc. specializes in recruiting medical professionals to the USA.

 

He is married to Manuela his wife since 1969 and has Three children, Tara 1971, Victor1973-87 who died in a car accident and Mark 1975, and two grandchildren, Victoria 08/02/2000 and Jonathan 5/10/2003. His daughter Tara is an attorney and a teacher graduated from Ohio State University in 1996, she is married to Eric Kristoff a software engineer at Swiss Bank and also a master mason.

Son Mark a civil engineer graduate of the University of Illinois in Champaign 1997 and married to Colleen and also a mason and a Past Worshipful master.
