SACRAMENTO, CA. – Malvina was born on May 10, 1925 in Jerusalem where she spent her childhood. She then was married and moved to Amman, Jordan for the first part of her adult life before making her home in Sarcamento, Ca close to her children and grandchildren. She loved to sew and knit, play cards and visit casinos to try her luck on the slots! Cooking brought her fame within the family and beyond. A seat at her table meant you would be well fed and probably be forced to eat more than you had hoped, but still so satisfied. She spoke four languages (Arabic, English, Italian and French) and used them all as she traveled all over the world, from as close as Reno and Lake Tahoe to as far Jordan and Belgium. However, her greatest hobby was her family.
She was married to the most incredible man, Issa Zumot, for almost 65 years. They loved each other well and enjoyed being together in every season of their lives. Issa, or as he is known to his grandchildren as “Cedo” would lovingly refer to her as “The Boss” and made it his life purpose to make her happy, even if that meant driving her a little crazy in the process. Malvina is survived by her children, Michel Zumot, Aida Lahleh, Maurice Zumot and Abla Colburn. She was a wonderful “Teta” (grandmother) to 7 grandchildren, Jordanna and Issa Zumot, Tanya, Jay and Ryan Colburn, Karim Lahleh and Sophia Zumot. One of her most recent joys was being able to spend time with her great granddaughter Isabella Zumot, daughter to Issa and Kellie Zumot. She spoiled every one of them rotten and her love for them was evident to all. A devoted Catholic woman, she knew that once her time on this earth was through, she would be united with God, her Creator and Savior. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held today, Tuesday, March 24th at 2pm at Mount Vernon Mortuary (8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA). |
